SUMMARY:2020 Libertarian Party of Oregon Annual Business Convention
DESCRIPTION:Dear Fellow Members of the Libertarian Party of Oregon\, \nThe 2020 Libertarian Party of Oregon Annual Business Convention is scheduled to be held at 9:00AM on Saturday 28th at the Phoenix Hotel located at 14905 Bangy Road\, Lake Oswego\, OR 97035. \nIn line with government directives related to the Covid 19 crisis\, and to minimize the risk that any infected LPO members attending the convention might unknowingly spread the virus among others\, the following plan will be executed: \n1.  CALL TO ORDER.  The presiding officer of the convention will call the convention to order at the designated place and time.  This action will assure technical compliance with Article X\, Section 1 of the LPO’s legitimate organizational documents which require that the Annual Business Convention be held during the month of March. \n2.  EMERGENCY ACTION.  Based on the public health emergency\, and the potential immediacy of the virus threat to be spread among convention participants\, the convention will be immediately adjourned to a meeting\, effectively calling the convention into recess.  Those present will then disperse.  The “Adjourned Meeting” will come to order at 9:00AM on Saturday\, May 30\, 2020 at the offices of PrimeOne Advocates\, 7100 SW Hampton\, Suite 201\, Tigard\, OR 97223. \n3.  CONTINUATION OF CONVENTION.  At the May 30th adjourned meeting\, the convention will come back to order and delegates present will work through the previously noticed agenda as planned. \nThis means that you are NOT REQUIRED to come to the Phoenix in on March 28th because the convention will be immediately adjourned to May 30th (at which time we believe the Covid 19 virus crisis will be under control).  In fact\, WE ENCOURAGE YOU NOT TO COME at that time for your personal safety and the safety of others (a quorum is not required to “adjourn to a meeting”).  Instead\, we are encouraging you to come to the May 30th “Adjourned Meeting” where all of the convention business shown on the previously noticed agenda will be conducted. \n  \nIf you wish to become a “regular” LPO member or renew your membership\, you can join by clicking HERE.  Annual dues are $50\, which you may be eligible to recover with Oregon’s Political Tax Credit.  If you wish to become a “registered” LPO member (no cost)\, you can click HERE.  Naturally\, we hope you do both.  “Regular” and “honorary lifetime” members may exclusively vote in business conventions.  “Registered” LPO members may exclusively vote at candidate nominating conventions. \n  \nIf you have questions\, please email LPO Secretary Richard P. Burke at rpbcentral@gmail.com.  Thank you.
